Aaron Jacobson, Psy.D.

I received my Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, California, in 2010. After completing my residency, I worked in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Department at Kaiser Permanente in Santa Rosa, California. In this role I serviced diverse children and provided case management for children and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders. I also co-led the Teen Intensive Outpatient Program, where I provided psychoeducation and support to high risk teens and their parents.

I then moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, where I worked at Westcoast Child Development Clinic, providing services for children and families. I also provided assessments for Autism Spectrum Disorder, Complex Developmental & Behavioral Conditions, and psychoeducational testing. I also worked for the offices of Trimble, Stefanakis, and Associates, treating adults and couples with a wide variety of issues, including immigration challenges, trauma, and addiction.

Over the course of more than fifteen years in the mental health field, I have received specialized training in Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Time Limited Dynamic Psychotherapy (TLDP).

I have expertise in both time-limited and longer term work with teenagers and their families, men in relationships, and survivors of abuse, neglect, and trauma. I generally work as an interpersonal therapist, often integrating both cognitive-behavioral and more depth-oriented psychodynamic work in my treatment plans. I offer psychotherapy in English and Spanish.
